Hot Mat Pilates Training with Jess Ray

In this 8 hour training you will learn the key principles to lead a Hot Mat Pilates class. These classes are a challenging, soulful, full-body experience. The purpose of Pilates is to strengthen, lengthen, and balance the body with a primary focus of creating muscle tone and core strength. Hot Mat Pilates is a breath focused, high intensity, low impact class using various sequences to stabilize major muscle groups.
This course we will review classical and modern mat Pilates exercises, alignment, sequencing, incorporating props and creating a playlist to assist and energize in the experience.

At the end of this training you will be given two standard sequences to get you started on your journey of teaching Hot Mat Pilates, these are meant for you to adjust and add to so they feel like your own.

In addition to 6 hours in person training, you will be required to take 3 Hot Mat Pilates classes at shefa with Jess and a 20 minute teach back session will be scheduled via zoom or in person after the completion of the three classes + 6 hour training.

Pilates is a valuable way to increase strength, flexibility, and evenly condition the body, it helps to prevent injuries such as low back pain, and train muscle groups to move more effectively. It’ is truly the perfect complement to a regular yoga practice.

Friday January 24th noon-4pm in Studio C
Saturday January 25th 1:45-4:15pm in Studio B
